Lille Regional Teaching University Hospital in France wanted to improve the experience of the more than 87,000 patients it serves each year while also enabling greater staff efficiency. To do that, the hospital harnessed the Internet of Things, creating an intelligent bedside system with touchscreen terminals that, among other things, let patients contact family and friends via email.
